Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born October 20 1964. She is an American politician. She is the first woman to hold the vice-president and the highest ranking female politician in U.S history. A member of the Democratic Party, she has previously served as the attorney general of California from 2011 until 2017, and as the state's attorney general from 2011 to 2017 and as a United States senator representing California until 2021. Harris was born in Oakland and graduated from Howard University, University of California, Hastings College of the Law. Harris began her career with the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. She was then appointed to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. The office was named San Francisco district attorney in 2003. She was elected Attorney-General of California in 2010 and reelected in 2014. Harris served as the junior United States senator from California from 2017 to 2021. Harris defeated Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election, becoming the second African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. As senator, she fought for healthcare reform as well as federal de-scheduling cannabis, a path to citizenship for immigrants who are not legal, the DREAM Act, a ban on assault weapons, and progressive tax reform. She is most famous for her direct questions to Trump administration officials in Senate hearings.
